Why book dr. cayte?

Who is the puppeteer of your relationships,
you or your environment?

Hi, I'm Cayte Castrillon and I'm a Certified Sex Therapist and Researcher in the field of relational and sexual health. After earning my Master of Social Work degree from New York University in 2004 and working with clients in a multitude of clinical settings, I realized the need for more clinical professionals that are well trained in the field of sexual trauma, relational health, and sex education.

I've dedicated the later part of my career to this path and I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Sexology from The Modern Sex Therapy Institutes, focusing my research on the relational effects of pornography on young adults.

One's environmental and social conditioning determines so much of how they show up in relationships.  All forms of media and the social milieu impact us in a way that we rarely examine.  I'm here to challenge my audiences to to do just that. My passion is in guiding my audience on a journey of understanding about how their environment has impacted their relationships, communication patterns, and their concept of themselves.  This new understanding can allow them to have the healthiest relationships possible in every facet of their lives.

When I’m not connecting with audiences on the stage, you can find me traveling all over the country to sit courtside at my daughter's volleyball games or spending weekends with my partner taking in all the glory that New York City has to offer.

EXPERT POSITIONING STATEMENT

I help young people identify the relational and sexual conditioning of the media they consume so they can be more informed about what is driving their decisions in their relationships.  My goal is to help them experience the healthy, mutually autonomous relationships they deserve.

Unscripted: Breaking Free from Media's Relationship Blueprint

Media literacy, including that regarding adult content, is fundamental to understanding how consumption shapes identity. I specialize in helping young people recognize the relational and sexual conditioning embedded in media, empowering them to cultivate the healthy, mutually respectful relationships they deserve.

Our environmental and social conditioning profoundly influences how we engage in relationships. Media and social environments shape us in ways we rarely examine critically. My mission is to challenge audiences to undertake this vital self-reflection. I'm passionate about guiding people to understand how their environment has influenced their relationship dynamics, communication patterns, and self-concept. This awareness creates the foundation for building healthier connections across all facets of life.

Sex: The Sixth Sense

In our hyper-stimulated world, we're paradoxically disconnected from our sensory experience—overwhelmed to the point of numbness. True sensuality is an internally directed bodily experience that we must reclaim before establishing healthy sexuality. My presentation guides audiences through this essential reconnection process, helping them rediscover their sensual nature as the foundation for sexual wellbeing.

The journey doesn't end with self-discovery. I equip participants with the communication tools necessary to express what they're learning about themselves. This ability to articulate newfound sensual awareness creates the bridge to more authentic intimate connections.

By rebuilding our relationship with our senses—feeling texture, savoring taste, noticing subtle touches—we cultivate the attentiveness required for genuine sexual health. This sensual reawakening, paired with effective communication, forms the cornerstone for more fulfilling intimate relationships and a profoundly richer experience of life itself.

The Elemental Relationship: A Framework for Connection

This presentation explores relationship dynamics through the timeless metaphor of the four classical elements. Earth forms our foundation through genuine physical and emotional presence—reminding us that proximity alone isn't connection. Air represents communication in its purest form, flowing freely without the contamination of contempt, defensiveness, or other toxic patterns that poison our exchanges.

Fire illuminates the passionate dimension of relationships, providing the vital energy and warmth that prevents bonds from cooling into mere arrangements. Water embodies adaptability and growth, illustrating how healthy relationships must flow and evolve rather than remain rigidly fixed in time.

Together, these four elements create a comprehensive framework for understanding what makes our connections not just endure, but truly flourish. By nurturing each element in balance, we cultivate relationships that are grounded yet dynamic, communicative yet passionate—complete in their elemental harmony.
